Vulcan descaler
for Hotels & Hospitality

Research shows that hard water can contribute to as much as 30 percent of excessive energy costs and up to 70 percent of maintenance expenses and equipment failures in the hospitality and hotel industry. Evaluating your water hardness,  capacity, and the water flow rate in your system is essential to choosing the right water treatment solution. With Vulcan Descaler installed, you can expect a gentle removal of limescale from your pipes and equipment. Furthermore, Vulcan protects against rust, corrosion, and pitting, which helps prolong the life of your equipment, improve energy efficiency, and reduce your energy bills.

No salts, chemicals or magnets

Less maintenance

  • Reduces scale deposits in the piping system
  • Longer life and improved performance of appliances
  • Lower maintenance for water heaters, washing machines, etc.

Easier cleaning

  • Reduction in cleaning time and labour costs
  • Reduction in heating costs
  • Savings on soap and cleaning agents
  • Softer towels and bed linnen

Savings

  • Removes existing limescale from pipes & equipment
  • Reduction in heating costs
  • Savings on chemical and cleaning agents
  • Lower labour time to clean
  • Less manitenance cycles
  • Energy savings up to 30%

1. Reduced limescale build‑up

  • Vulcan changes the crystallisation process of calcium so limescale loses its stickiness, gets washed away as fine particles rather than sticking to surfaces.
  • Existing scale in pipes, heating elements etc. is gradually dissolved or loosened.

2. Energy savings

  • Because scale reduces heat transfer in boilers, hot water tanks, heat exchangers etc., removing it improves efficiency. Some claims are up to ~30% energy savings in heating or hot water systems.
  • Lower energy consumption contributes to lower operating costs and can help meet sustainability goals.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works

3. Lower maintenance & longer equipment life

  • Less scale means less wear on water heaters, heat exchangers, boilers, pumps, and plumbing. This reduces the frequency of maintenance, parts replacement, or cleaning out scale‐related blockages.
  • Also protects against corrosion and rust. The system forms a metal‑carbonate protective layer which helps reduce damage to pipes.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works

4. Reduced cleaning costs / labour

  • With less scale on fittings, tiles, shower heads, glassware, etc., cleaning becomes easier and less frequent. Labour time for cleaning bathrooms, kitchens etc. is reduced
  • Less use of aggressive descaling chemicals → safer for staff, less chemical handling and possibly lower chemical costs.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works

5. Improved guest experience

  • Guests expect clean showers, taps, glassware. Scale streaks, blocked jets etc. give poor impression. If fixtures stay clean and water flows well, better satisfaction. (Some of this is implied from the reduction in visible scale and improved water quality.
  • Softer “feel” to water (even if chemical hardness unchanged), better lathering soaps etc. This improves guest comfort in bathrooms, spas & wellness areas.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works

6. Environmental benefits

  • Because Vulcan doesn’t use salt, chemicals or magnetic/metal alloy media like traditional water softeners.
  • Lower water waste (many salt water softeners require back‑washing or regeneration) is avoided.
  • Helps with water and energy efficiency targets, carbon footprint/policy compliance.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works

7. Easy installation & low operating cost

  • Self‐install in many cases, external clamp bands onto pipes. Little maintenance needed once installed.
  • Ongoing running cost is minimal (electrical power only). No consumables like salt or chemical additives.
BenefitsHow Vulcan Works
Monthly savings in large buildings

  • Pipes and appliances stay clean longer
  • More efficiency of heating systems
  • Minimised cleaning costs
  • Less repairs of equipment
  • No more maintenance or salt purchases for water softeners

The monthly savings can amount up to 15 – 30 % on your current costs.

Increase the efficiency of your heating system

When water is heated in a water heater or with a tank-less water heater, hard water always leads to deposits on the heating elements. This layer inevitably causes a great reduction in the capability of the heat to transfer.

A scale deposit of only 2mm (~0.078 inches) can lead to an energy loss of more than 15%. The increase in heating time leads to a tremendous rise in your power consumption.
