In the course of my almost 25 years of career as an hairdresser, I have been dealing with the element of water every day. That is exactly how long I have been searching for a method to reduce lime deposits. For 10 years now I have been running my business in my own house. All the more I was interested in doing something against the constant cleaning and descaling in the household. Furthermore, the whole family prefers tap water as their main drink. So the quality of the water is very important to us. Vulcan sounds very interesting and I decided to install such a device for a test. After we have been using Vulcan for half a year, we can make the following positive observations:
Less limescale deposits in shower, bath, WC. Easier cleaning of our glass shower cabin (considerably less limescale deposits).
The water is noticeably softer, which is noticeable when washing my customers’ hair.
The drinking and tap water is of a higher quality. It is noticeably more velvety and tasteless.
Taps and nozzles are less calcified.
The coffee machine is hardly calcified any more.
Generally less consumption and use of conventional descaling agents.
All in all only positive findings. We bought the Vulcan with complete conviction. If the statements also apply to the water pipes in the house, our water pipe system will not incur any expensive maintenance costs in the next few years, so that this investment has also paid off here.
The effectiveness of the physical water treatment has not only been proven by users but that there are also theoretical and practical physical-chemical proofs. View PDF here →
This test showed that a tendency to form lime deposits is reduced considerably by the Vulcan V5000 water treatment device. View PDF here →
Paper 1: The present study investigated the feasibility of RF electrical fields in mitigating CaCO3 fouling in cooling water. Three different voltages and two frequencies were used for the RF electric fields produced directly in water with varying cold-side velocity. Artificial hard water was used. Fouling resistances for the PWT- treated cases decreased by 34–88% from the values for no-treatment cases . View PDF here →

Paper 3: Electrodialysis in the presence of humate. It was reported that the application of external electric fields with pulsation and infrasonic pulsing could give substantial improvements in the performance of pressure-driven membrane processes by reduction of concentration polarization, control of membrane fouling . Paper 4: Induction of a Radio-Frequency Alternating Electric Field (RFAEF) in water at a specific range of frequency and antenna voltage, along with its distinct sinewave waveform, changes the way minerals precipitate, minimizing hard-lime scale by producing instead a non-adherent mineral powder in the bulk water. Moreover, the unsaturated solution that is created, along with enhanced carbon dioxide production, dissolves gradually the existing scale in plumbing tubes. Furthermore, the RFAEF inductance device demon- strates a major improvement over other pulsed-power systems, proving this electronic antifouling technique suitable for both hard and soft waters, as well as for large-scale applications.
